Ashley VanCott holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a Minor in Spanish from the University of Nevada, Reno. Ashley is an entrepreneur and continually takes on new challenges, having demonstrated experience in:
a) Entrepreneurship and project/team management, having founded two successful startups dedicated to helping scientists write and publish scientific articles – BioPub and WriteWise;
b) Building long-term business relationships with clients and users, having a satisfaction and retention rate over 90%;
c) Organization, critical thinking, problem solving, and focusing on details, making her an extremely valuable asset for any company.
Ashley also has a vast experience with scientific articles - including writing, editing, and translating (Spanish to English) texts. Ashley has:
1) Over seven years of experience in editing scientific texts;
2) Edited and translated over 1000 scientific texts, including scientific articles, patents, protocols, theses, books, grants, and websites, with particular emphasis on diverse areas of the life sciences areas (e.g., ecology to molecular biology);
3) Advised, guided, and helped dozens of researchers and students to write better and clearly communicate their science;
4) Trained and taught the fundamentals of scientific writing in English to over 800 researchers.
Before founding BioPub and WriteWise, Ashley gained sales, client service, operations, and business analysis experience in Chile and the USA in companies such as Enterprise, Business News Americas, and Ernst & Young.
