Sofía Zamora is a PhD student of Linguistics at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, holds a Master’s of Applied Linguistics, is a Spanish and Communications instructor, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Language and Literature and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. Sofía has worked as an instructor and has conducted research at the elementary, high school, and higher education levels. She has participated in Fondecyt research projects and is an author of several scientific publications. Sofía also has consulting experience, specifically in aiding thesis students from various disciplines develop academic writing skills. Her research interests include the writing process, academic literacy, natural language processing as applied to academic genres, and developing instructional systems for computer-assisted writing.
Sofía is currently an associated researcher for WriteWise, where she is applying her linguistic expertise in academic texts to integrally contribute to the development of the WriteWise software.
